Choosing The Best Sacramento Carpet Cleaning Option For You

By Angelina Kringly

No matter what the problem is with your beautiful carpeting and rugs, rest assured that there aren't many Sacramento carpet cleaning options available to choose from. Whether you are a person who does it yourself or a hands off observer, there are many ways in which your rugs can be brought back to brand new pristine condition.

Unlike the old-fashioned commercial shampooers that you can actually still rent at your local grocery store or home improvement center, newer steam-based machines have replaced most of these older devices simply because they are more effective and cause fewer problems.

Steam is safe for just about any type of fiber. After all it's nothing more than hot water. However, the incredibly high heat needed to turn this hot water into evaporating steam can actually fade certain materials that use very inexpensive dyes. For this reason it is always recommended that the spot test be done in an inconspicuous place such as a corner of the room or under a piece of furniture.

Machines that operate on steam don't need the amount of cleaning solution that we needed in the older rental machines we caught used to. The steam itself acts as a cleaning agent. Ounce for ounce, these new cleaning chemicals are less expensive and more effective, not to mention much safer, than the old fashioned shampoos that tended to get stuck in the rug fibers and create havoc with the materials, frequently ruining the rug over a period of time if the same shampooing method was used repeatedly.

With the advent of the steam cleaners these problems have been totally eradicated. No longer are these machines made to simply spray thick soapy solutions on to carpeting, they are mainly steam producers now. The steam is sprayed forcefully into the fibers of the carpeting, mixing with the perfect amount of environmentally safe cleaning solution, and almost immediately the results hang dirty water is sucked back up into a waste reservoir which can be safely dumped down any household drain.

Carpeting that has been steam cleaned dries quickly, preventing further damage that was common with the old fashioned commercial machines.
